General Shared EHRs
This is the core application the enables the secure sharing of event summary data from health care events. These include event summaries from GPs, diagnostic reports and hospital discharge summaries.
Specific Chronic Disease Management Programs
Patients with specific chronic diseases may be participants in customised programs for the different diseases. These diseases (patients groupings) have their own data sets and requirements for details of treatments and results (EHRs).
Smart Health has implemented the Cystic Fibrosis program in Victoria and has a Renal program in development. Diabetes, Oncology and Asthma are expected to follow.
The chronic disease programs are subsets of general shared EHR.
OnLine Hospital Reporting (HCP Reporting)
Based on the Commonwealth Grant funding a unique application has been developed that allows private hospital to report patient treatment details online to DVA. Commercially this is only a minor application but it is required by most private hospitals that service DVA patients and provides an easy entry point for Smart Health.
Images on Demand (IOD)
The Smart Health application also supports the availability of diagnostic images on demand. Currently only angiograms are supported however all image types will be supported in early 2004.
