Healthcare Service Providers

Authorised Service Provider Card

  • You will need to be in possession of a smart card from the Health Electronic Signature Authority.
  • This card enables authorised healthcare service providers to establish a secure session to the data repository.
  • The clinical data is not stored on the card, but on the secure database. The card is the security key needed to access the information.

The reader

  • You will need a Smart Card Reader, provided by HeSA.

Installation

  • Self Installation or Smart Health can support installation.
  • Talk to Smart Health to arrange to download our software directly.

Patients

Consent

  • The patient will need to complete a consent form

Patient Identification

  • The patient will be issued with a unique Patient Identifier. This is typically in the form of a smart card for convenience.
